This article contains help on how to create an online account using pre-filled information from your PayPal account using The Lott website and using The Lott app, saving you time when registering. This process will also connect your PayPal account to your online Lotteries account for depositing funds in the future.
Please note: As required by law, upon joining we will verify your name, age and residential address. Please ensure your details match documents like your Passport or Drivers Licence to complete the below process easily.
Creating an account using The Lott website
Step 1: Visit The Lott website
From any page of thelott.com, tap on 'LOGIN' in the top right hand corner of your screen. Within the Login Modal, tap the 'SIGN UP NOW' button to be taken to the sign up form.
Alternatively you can visit https://www.thelott.com/join-up
Step 2: Connect to PayPal
Within the first step of the Sign Up form, tap the 'PayPal' button to launch the PayPal login modal.
If you have an existing PayPal wallet, enter your PayPal Username and Password and tap the 'Log In' button to continue. If you don’t have a PayPal wallet, tap the 'Create an Account' button to create a PayPal account.
Step 3: Choose your preferred payment source in PayPal
As part of connecting your PayPal wallet to the online Lotteries account you will create, you'll be prompted to choose a preferred payment source which will be used when depositing funds into your online Lotteries account in the future using PayPal.
It is important to note that based on recent changes to Mastercard's policies PayPal are unable to offer Mastercard as a funding source within the PayPal wallet when depositing funds with Lotteries or Wagering businesses. A such you will need to choose or add a VISA Debit or Credit Card or Bank Account as your preferred payment source.
Once you have chosen your preferred payment source tap the 'Continue' button to proceed.
Step 4: Review and confirm your personal information
Once you have tapped 'Continue', the PayPal modal will disappear and you will be returned to the Sign Up form on The Lott website. Any available personal information from your PayPal wallet will now be pre-filled within the Sign Up form.
Confirm the details pre-filled within the Sign Up form are correct and update any missing information as required.
Username: this will be the Username you use to login to your online Lotteries account. You can update this at any time from within your account – check out our article on updating your username for more information.
Password: Enter a Password to protect your account. Create a password that is at least 10 characters long, it can contain a combination of letters, numbers and symbols. We provide the ability to Show/Hide your password so that you can check you have entered it correctly.
Email Address: Confirm your email address returned from PayPal is correct, otherwise update as required. It’s important your email address is valid as we use this to send you important notifications such as Purchase Confirmations and Win Notifications.
Title, First Name and Surname: Select a Title and ensure your First Name and Surname are correct and match key identification documents such as Drivers Licence or Passport. Your Middle Name is not required.
Date of Birth: Remember you must be over the age of 18 to play games and receive prizes online.
Residential Address: Ensure your residential address is entered correctly. If required to update, start typing in the box provided and we will suggest addresses for you to select from. If you are unable to find your address in the lookup, click 'Can’t find your address?' to enter it manually. PO Boxes are not valid residential addresses.
Contact Number: Provide either a mobile or landline number - this will allow us to contact you if you win a Division 1 prize!
Player Card Number: If you are an existing Winners Circle, Players Club, Tatts Card or Easiplay Club member please enter your card number to link it to your online account. Doing so will allow you to view your in-store purchases online as well as having the option of your prizes being paid directly into your online account.
Choose a spend limit (optional): For customers in South Australia you have the option to nominate a spend limit during the sign up process. See our article on managing your spend limit for more information.
Step 5: Create Account
Once you have reviewed and completed all fields within the Sign Up form, tap 'CREATE ACCOUNT'.
If successful you'll be automatically logged into your new account, and will receive a registration confirmation email to the address you specified when signing up.

Creating an account using The Lott App
Step 1: Open the Lott App for iOS or Android
Open or download The Lott app on your device.
On the Home Screen, tap the Join/Login icon located in the menu at the bottom of the screen.
On the Login Screen, tap the Join Now button located in the top right of the screen.
Tapping this will launch a modal providing options on how you would like to join.
Step 2: Connect to PayPal
Within the Sign Up launch modal, tap the option 'Prefill and Connect using PayPal' to launch the PayPal login screen.
If you have an existing PayPal wallet, enter your PayPal Username and Password and tap the 'Log In' button to continue. If you don’t have a PayPal wallet, tap the 'Create an Account' button to create a PayPal account.
