In FY24, more than 132.8 million winners took home more than $4.4 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto (Tatts Lotto, Gold Lotto, Saturday Lotto and X Lotto), Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno, Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.
Last financial year, Australia’s Official Lotteries contributed more than $1.82 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
Powerball
In FY24, 19 Powerball division one winning entries across Australia pocketed more than $758 million in prize money.
During this time, Powerball offered a $200 million jackpot, the biggest in Australian history, and an Adelaide man who won $150 million became the nation’s biggest individual lottery winner.
Of the 19 Powerball division one winning entries in FY24, eight landed in New South Wales, six in Victoria, three in Queensland and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.
Entry types
- More than half (12 of 19) of the Powerball division one winning entries were QuickPicks – where the lottery terminal randomly generates your numbers.
- Almost half (9 of 19) of the FY24 Powerball division one winning entries were PowerHit entries – an entry unique to Powerball that guarantees the all-important Powerball number you need to win division one.
- Almost half of the division one winning entries in FY24 were relatively small entries of 36 games or less (including single PowerHit entries).
Oz Lotto
In FY24, 16 Oz Lotto division one winning across Australia collectively won more than $323 million.
During this time, Oz Lotto offered a $90 million jackpot – the second biggest in the game’s 30-year history – which was shared by three New South Wales winners.
Of the 16 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY24, 10 landed in New South Wales, three in Queensland, and one each Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

- Three-quarters of the Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY24 were QuickPick entries – where the lottery terminal randomly selects the numbers.
- Three of the 16 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY24 were System entries – which allows you to play more numbers in a single game.
- Half of the Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY24 were relatively small entries of 36 games or less.
- A six-game QuickPick won FY24’s biggest Oz Lotto jackpot – a $50 million prize.
Saturday Lotto
In FY24, the Saturday Lotto suite of games created 158 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 292 division one winning entries across Australia that collectively won more than $436 million.
Entry types
- About two-thirds of Saturday Lotto division one winning entries in FY24 were QuickPick entries.
- The top three entries types to score division one in Saturday Lotto in FY24 were 50-game (14.9% of all wins at The Lott), 12-game (10.9%) and 18-game (10.5%).
Weekday Windfall (Monday & Wednesday Lotto)
In FY24, Weekday Windfall (formerly Monday & Wednesday Lotto) created 99 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 109 division one winning Weekday Windfall (formerly Monday & Wednesday Lotto) entries across Australia, which collectively won $108 million.
Entry types
- Just over half (53.3%) of Weekday Windfall division one winning entries in FY24 were marked entires.
- The top three entry types to score division one in Weekday Windfall in FY24 were 6-game (12.2% of all wins), 12-game (11.1% of all wins) and 50-game (8.8%).
Lucky Lotteries
In FY24, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $53.4 million.
Set for Life
In FY24, there were 12 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $57.6 million during the next 20 years.
By 30 June 2024, more than $131.48 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 130 Set for Life division one winners across Australia.
Keno South Australia
In FY24, there were more than 5.27 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $123.67 million. This included 47 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $6.26 million.
The Spot 10 prize was won three times during this period, including a $2.26 million prize won by a Paralowie woman keen to use her good fortune to help others and causes close to her heart.
Instant Scratch-Its
In FY24, there were 143 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12.12 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 26.4 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $249.65 million. This equates to more than half a million winners and more than $4.8 million won on Instant Scratch-Its each week.
