Having your Locations Services turned on is a requirement to make sure we’re complying with App Store and Google Play’s policies.
There are two key obligations we need to meet:
- Apps that offer lotteries must have the necessary licensing and permissions in the locations where the app is used.
- The app must be geo-restricted to those licensed locations.
As the official licensed lottery operator for all Australian states and territories, excluding Western Australia, we’re required to request your location to make sure you’re using The Lott app from a licensed jurisdiction.
Your location data is not used in any other way, other than to meet this requirement.
